Willpactors® are rugged, single-rotor, primary horizontal shaft impact crushers for high capacity, high reduction ratio, plus external product size adjustment. These heavy-duty horizontal impactors are engineered around five rotor sizes to provide capacities as high as 2000 tons per hour. Feed openings are as large as 72 inches by 111 inches for free feeding of shovel-loaded rock.
Design Feature of the Willpactor®
The Willpactor® horizontal shaft impact crusher design includes all the rugged construction features you expect in a Williams machine, plus it allows you to control product size while in operation without opening the crusher or changing parts. It can be utilized for a variety of applications, such as concrete or cement crushing, or for reducing run-of-mine quarry rock, limestone, asphalt, anode butts, and various minerals. This “New Holland”-style horizontal impact crusher design even allows for the machine to be mounted on a mobile frame by others.
How Does the Willpactor® Horizontal Shaft Impactor Work?
-
Feed enters the crusher
Large rock or run-of-mine material is dropped into the wide feed opening and falls into the crushing chamber by gravity.
-
Rotor grabs the rock
A heavy, horizontally mounted rotor fitted with blow bars (hammers) spins at high speed and strikes the incoming rock.
-
First impact on breaker plates
The blow bars hurl the rock forward into fixed breaker plates (aprons) inside the housing, where the first major shattering impact occurs.
-
Multiple impacts in the chamber
Broken pieces ricochet between the rotor, breaker plates, and other fragments, taking repeated hits and getting progressively smaller as they move through the impact zones.
-
Size control by apron adjustment
The final size is controlled by the gap between the rotor and the adjustable breaker plates; on a Willpactor® this product size can be adjusted externally while the machine is running, without opening the crusher or changing parts.
-
Discharge of finished product
Once fragments are small enough to pass through the clearance at the bottom of the chamber, they drop out of the crusher and onto a conveyor or pile as the finished product.
