Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) technology is a clean process for Fluidized Bed Combustors that removes up to 95% of pollutants, resulting in low emissions output.

Williams Direct-Fired Roller Mill Pulverizers and Impact Dryer Mills (limestone mills) have proven to be very effective for direct-injection of dry sorbent lime or limestone into the CFB or combustion process.  Our experience with CFB technology is extensive and dates back to the mid-1980s during the initial process development stages. These limestone grinding machines have proven themselves as an essential part of CFB systems.

Continuing to be on the forefront of a wide variety of applications, Williams Roller Mills are also used highly successfully in numerous direct injection furnace applications utilizing coal and/or petroleum coke.

Williams Direct Injection Roller Mills are used as limestone grinding machines and can dry to very exact particle sizes that are required for efficient SO2 removal. These limestone mills are designed to operate at 3 to 4 PSI (0.2 to 0.3 bar) and 250°F (120°C) to inject the limestone directly into the CFB, thus eliminating costly material handling, storage, and drying equipment.

Williams Impact Dryer Mills are a low-cost, reliable method of producing quality sorbent for bin type systems where the limestone grinding machine must produce a precisely sized particle distribution while simultaneously drying the limestone to less than 1% moisture.
